The Lima/Allen County community has lots of fun and informative events planned leading up to and during the eclipse. Don’t miss them!

April 3-8, 2024
Allen County Fairgrounds

Camping and fun for the entire family!
60 full hookup spots (30 amp, limited 50 amp, water sewage) @ $100 per night
Primitive tent camping in Roschman Park at $40 a night.
138 Electric Only (30 amp, limited 50 amp) camping spots @ $70 per night.
2 NIGHT MINIMUM FOR ALL CAMPING SPOTS
Camping reservations are first come first served!
Camping check-ins begins daily on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024 at 8:30 am
Checkout must be by 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024

Delphos Canal Commission Museum

Kick off the eclipse weekend at your canal museum and find out if our exhibits come to life! Dress in your best vintage clothing and explore the museum while enjoying food and drink. The Lima Symphony’s season finale features one of our own as principal flutist Erin Torres and duo partner saxophonist Michael Torres bring a world premiere by award-winning composer Evan Williams to our stage. In anticipation of the eclipse, the symphony will present Sinfonia for Orbiting Spheres by Missy Mazzoli, a composer known for her “apocalyptic imagination.” Bookending our duo are two of Classical Music’s most enduring works, Faure’s delicately wistful “Pavane” and Dvorak’s tragic Symphony No. 7.

The Allen County Airport offers parking for the 2024 solar eclipse. Both apron tie down spots and grass parking are available. Aircraft must be parked no later than 13:00. Latrines will be available on site. Pet friendly. 100LL (full service truck). Jet-A w/Prist (full service truck). GPU startup. Courtesy cars are available. First come, first served. Overnight parking is available.

Sycamore Lake Winery will be open from 11:00am – 6:00pm on Monday, April 8. Please plan to bring a lawn chair, eclipse glasses and cash as we are not sure our computer systems will be operating that day. We will be offering special as well.

Harrod Event Center

View the total eclipse at the Harrod Event Center! On this day we will have live music with the band Mischief. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and watch the eclipse on the soccer field. Payton’s Kitchen, Jerry Henderson, concessions and taco wagon will all be open for food! Bounce houses for fun! Vendors for shopping (still taking more vendors). Parking will be $5 per car load to help cover costs. We do have an indoor plan B if weather is not cooperating. Come out for a day of family fun!

Come to Bluelick Bible Church to watch the total solar eclipse for FREE on April 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Just north of Lima’s city limits, our property has a view unobstructed by buildings, trees, or industrial smoke. We will provide a concession-style lunch and solar eclipse glasses while supplies last.
Our church is located 4 miles west of Interstate 75 and 3 miles south of US Route 30.

Whippy Dip

Come watch the eclipse with the Whippy Dip crew. Lima is in the path of totality so as long as the clouds stay away, it’s looking like a beautiful day. Bring a chair and camp out over in the grassy area. We will be handing out glow sticks prior to the total eclipse (customers only while supplies last).
We will be open, however we will stop serving during the eclipse so our staff can witness this event.
Parking will be for customers only. Please do not block Collins Street by the drive thru entrance (or anywhere in that area) so traffic can move freely.
Don’t forget your glasses. We have plenty on hand from the Lima Astronomical Society. Prices are one for $4 or three for $10.

Make The Met your official solar eclipse viewing location for this once and a lifetime event! The eclipse will begin shortly before 2PM with totality occurring around 3:10PM! We’ll be out on Downtown Lima’s biggest patio watching the show!
The Met will also be open for dining all weekend.
